About the course data

The course maps on this site and in the Golf Scout app come from OpenStreetMap, the free map of the world that volunteers build and keep up to date.

Where it comes from

Golfers and mappers draw each course on OpenStreetMap: the line of every hole, the tees, fairways, greens, bunkers and water. Golf Scout takes those shapes, works out which hazards belong to which hole, and measures the distances you see here. Lengths follow the line of each hole as it's mapped, so they can differ from a club's scorecard.

Licence

OpenStreetMap data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database License (ODbL). The course database Golf Scout builds from it is available under the same licence: email hello@veglog.app for a copy. The maps and pages on this site are made from that data.

County boundaries are from UK Ceremonial Counties, built from Office for National Statistics data (Open Government Licence) and OpenStreetMap.

Fixing a course

If a course is missing holes or something is in the wrong place, anyone can fix it on OpenStreetMap. Each course page links to the course there. The changes reach this site and the app when the course data is next refreshed.

Clubs

Golf Scout isn't affiliated with any of the clubs listed here. If you run a club and would like something changed, email hello@veglog.app.
